It has been a long time coming, I have wanted to make these for over a year and I recently found myself with a spare day, something that hasn’t happened for a very long time. I love cinema and something I really appreciate is old horror movies and their posters. I like the design and suspense, I am not personally a fan of horror movies anymore but I often go back and watch one from the 40s or 50s and very much enjoy the sense of nostalgia.
I first came up with my Mummy print when designing a range of shoes to be featured on Royalefam and ever since I have wanted to make a Mummy VI. With all this in mind and with reemergence of the Jordan VI on the retro scene it only seemed appropriate and I stashed a pair of VIs away until I found the time to bring them to life and here they are! I present to you the Air Jordan VI Mummy!
The design is based around the Mummy wrapping which has come loose around the shoe exposing the fleshy undertones. The secondary color story is of that of the dark blue and gold features which help to tie in the Egyptian aesthetic.
