Puma Disc Blaze ‘Olive Carnage’

It’s no secret I am a fan of the Puma Disc, it’s absolutely one of my favorite shoes but I have never made a custom until now, why? Well basically because its one of the most impossible shoes to custom, to begin with the cage system obstructs a number of panels underneath, the clear cage straps are stitched into underlying panels meaning you cant custom them to the same color and well, they are usually all mesh or synthetic.

With all that being said I love the shoe and decided to just make a pair regardless. I recently picked up the Camo Disc as pictured above and decided this was the perfect base. The main changes to the shoe are that the Camo pattern has been dyed black and then my ‘Carnage’ print has been laced over the top of the toebox and the tongue. I also painted the midsole feature black and gave it a white speckle.

The main challenges were really having to paint on weird angles to get my line work done and then dying the mesh wasnt easy as I had to heat set them but also not melt the cage, it was tricky but the result is pretty killer if I do say so myself. I didn’t want to go overboard on this custom, I might make a version 2 down the line with a few small touches but I wanted this to be something you could easily imagine being on the shelf of a store, almost like they didn’t look custom. Hope you guys like them as much as I do!
