Nick Dal Santo is one of the all around good guys of the AFL and a 14 year Puma team member who this weekend will play his 300th game. His career has many highlights spread over his time at St Kilda and North Melbourne and to commemorate this outstanding achievement Puma tapped me to create a pair of one of a kind boots on the pair he first received when he signed up to Puma, the ‘King XL’.
The design of the boots represents his time at both clubs split over the two shoes, the Formstripe provides the bulk of the structure of the shoe with the colors of each team draped over the remainder of the upper. His number sits on the heels in gold as well as the games milestone on the lateral forefoot and the games played for each team on the medial. The clear box comes from my buddy Soldiers and I added his career highlights in gold vinyl, finally it is all perfectly brought together with an artificial grass inlay setting off the whole design. It was a pleasure to once again work with the crew and be a part of such a significant moment for an AFL great. If you watch the game this weekend Nick will also be playing in a pair of boots with a few little customizations I added so keep an eye out.
