Papoy? Ah! PaPOY! It just so happens I love the Minion characters from Despicable Me and if you remember I actually created a Minion print for Melbourne Comic Con earlier in the year. I knew when the Laney V dropped it was the perfect canvas to create a Minion custom and then a regular customer actually came to me with the idea, it was meant to be!
A lot of my customs are really print heavy and overly detailed but we didn’t think it was so necessary in this case. The toebox perfectly represents the chest pocket on the Minions overalls so I created a denim pattern over the panels and painted the reverse stitching on then added the Gru logo. The rest of the shoe is mostly the Minion yellow with the Minions hair surrounding the top panel, I added little minion eyes to the heel above the Jumpman for a bit of fun and to give them a bit more personalty. Hope you guys like them as much as I do, me and my 48 Minions have to get back to work now.
